SJAC Suspension Notice

In light of the most recent government advice, the uncertainty and risks to personal health and well-being along with that of the wider community, we have determined all training sessions are suspended with immediate effect and until further notice.

During this time, which will undoubtedly be hard and testing for the very best of us, I ask that you remain kind and thoughtful.

We anticipate there will be tough moments ahead for many.

One of the greatest strengths of the club over the years has been how it has pulled together. I speak often and proudly of the family that is Slough Junior AC. Now is a time when the true strengths of that family will shine through as we offer and give support to one another.

That support may be through a simple message, a ‘phone call, an offer to help others out with something - these “little things” will all count in the weeks and potentially months ahead. You’d be amazed at the difference bringing a small comfort, even a smile to someone’s face will make in the times ahead.

It is also really important that you keep yourselves fit and moving. The temptation to sit and do nothing will have massive appeal. A fit body helps lead to a fit mind, which is going to be so important if you are in isolation or just all at home all of the time - something we are not used to.

I will post out some simple ideas on things you can do in the front room or in your garden to keep moving (and not climbing up the wall as you go stir crazy) and have fun whilst doing it…share your thoughts - we may even have a small club competition to see who comes up with the best ideas and celebrate those when we are all back together in the hopefully not too distant future.

We will let you know as soon as we believe it is right and appropriate to restart our sessions in whatever format we can - we really want you doing active, fun stuff….

Keep well, keep fit, and above all keep healthy (and stay in touch…)
