Slough Junior AC's partnership with Wexham Court Primary School has been recognised with an England Athletics Award for Inclusion
Our athletics development partnership with Wexham Court PS was recognised by England Athletics at the South Region awards ceremony on Tuesday 1st October, 2019.
England Athletics acknowledged the work being done with the pupils at the primary school on their fundamental skills, to improve their physical literacy and all-round movement, agility, balance and co-ordination with fun filled lessons that embrace everyone.
The programme tracks performance, measures obesity levels, growth and development allowing programmes to be developed for individual pupils to address their challenges and to help them develop a solid base of skills for realising their sporting potential in the future.
Classroom sessions and meetings with parents have been held to discuss the key topics of healthy activity, managing obesity and how to make every day a healthy, active day.
Fitness sessions with teachers after school and the launch of the Family Fitness after school group in addition to the curriculum lessons and lunchtime running group have made this a true community-based project of which the club is very proud to be a part.
